BIBLES FOR NORTHERN BAIRNS
We all know that reading to young children is an important part of helping them develop – it helps speech development enables learning and they can often repeat those stories.
Bibles for Northern Bairns aims to give the chance for bible stories to be some of the stories that they hear and remind them of a God who loves them and wants them to know his care
The plan is to enable children and living in the URC Northern Synod locality to receive a ‘Share-a-story Bible for their family to read to them in these early years.
Any child born in 2025 and with an address in the Synod can be registered on the scheme. If registering on behalf of someone else’s child – by a grandparent or a friend – the parent or carer will be contacted to ensure they are happy to receive the Bible.
On their 1st birthday the child gets a birthday card and the ‘Share-a-story’ Bible. On every birthday from 2 to 4 they receive a birthday card and activities to enable the family to use with the stories. On their 5th birthday a card and a full children’s Bible will be sent.
These will be sent as a FREE GIFT to the family. You can be involved by thinking of families that you know who would value such a gift.
