RISK MANAGEMENT SEMINAR

The Synod is offering a free training event, open to local church members and elders
on legal, constitutional, practical, financial and property issues.

Saturday 2 October 2010 St James’s, Newcastle 10 am – 1 pm

at St James’s United Reformed Church, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8JF

organised by Robert Scott-Biggs of the Association of Church Accountants & Treasurers

The programme will include discussion of what is risk in general life, and then specifically in the context of a church, and why all churches should take care to consider it.

We will be offered different categories of risk to look out for, and taken through methods of assessing the impact and likelihood of things going wrong, and then how to put in place systems and procedures for managing your church’s activities so as to minimise that.

To book a place on this seminar, please contact our Trust Officer, Andrew Atkinson
(tel 0191-232 1168) preferably no later than Friday 24 September.

St James’s United Reformed Church, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8JF is the church with the spire, just along from the City Hall. Haymarket metro and bus station are just 5 minutes walk away, and
there are various car parks in city centre including College Street. Please note: there is no longer any on-street parking in Northumberland Road.

Coffee and registration begin from 9.30.
